This is Julie, the Founder of Fourth House Vintage.

I have always been naturally drawn to astrology, so when I started my own business, I knew I wanted that to play a foundational element into the theme and representation of my brand.

In astrology, the fourth house usually represents home and family.

When I look for vintage items, I try to picture their story, their adventures, and how I can continue their journey into other people’s wardrobe in the name of Fourth House Vintage.

The branding reflects this astrological symbolism embellished in the colours and stripes of Jupiter, as well as Jupiter’s astrological symbol that resembles the number 4 (what a coincidence!). Originally, the 4th house is ruled by Cancer - and Cancer is ruled by the moon. This is where the crescent shape comes from.

Our small team is currently operating in a rural town neighboring Ottawa, Ontario.

Myself and my team of close-knit professionals offer a level of personal touch and service that is unmatched. Our team is large enough to offer a continual stream of quality vintage pieces while being small enough to prioritize client communication and a pleasant experience from start to finish.

We take the time, energy, and guess work out of finding second-hand items that will become staple pieces in your wardrobe. As we expand, we are looking to increase our custom/upcycled items to follow with current trends without the fast-fashion implications on human rights and the environment.

Fourth House Vintage believes that every small step towards change matters. With landfills quickly filling up and posing as a larger threat to the environment every day, buying vintage or second-hand pieces is a simple way to lighten your impact as a consumer. Our clothing pieces offer less waste and do not contribute to fast fashion or unjust labour laws.

We also ship with 100% compostable mailers, tape, wrapping paper, stickers, and 100% recycled cardboard boxes for larger orders.

Fourth House Vintage offers only Grade A clothing and accessories which defines the top-tier quality and cleanliness of our items. We supply beautiful clothing in high vintage condition. Although our products can easily be restored back to their original prime condition, some items may come with unique marks from their journey through life via minor wear and tear or stains. All pieces are thoroughly cleaned prior to shipping and we meticulously vet each individual item to ensure your total satisfaction. We are confident and proud of the pieces we have available on our site and only list items that fit our genuine quality standards.

We are committed to using and supporting ethically sourced and sustainable materials to help Mother Nature as much as we can. We use soy-based inks and biodegradable or compostable packaging and stickers and are proud to say that everything we use to safely package and ship our orders is eco-friendly.
